Gold Pitfalls

I have noticed a phenomenon, although not totally dominating.... but still something to put in the back of your mind while playing gold story stocks..... is pitfalls

Issues that have made spectacular gains on news related potential, that put out a release for drilling results that don't meet expectations can take a real good haircut.... this seems to be occurring in the over .40cents to .90 cents area.... one of which (was only at .23 cents) I'm now looking at as bottom pick... AMH.V a story stock covered by HRAD.....  Amanta Resources (AMH.V)


Amanta Resources (AMH-V; off 2.5 cents on 530k shares at $0.14 cents) released the first four holes from the first ever drill program at its Luang Namtha project in Laos. All of the holes intersected mineralization and the grades were moderate to good. The intersections were a bit narrow for the market’s liking, and are not
yet outlining a specific potential. Better results included 4 metres of 1.8% copper & 57 g/t silver in hole 2 and 2 meters of 1.65% copper & 150 g/t silver in hole 4. Drilling so far has strengthened management’s conviction that they are dealing with a copper-mantos style deposit. This deposit type can carry good copper/silver grades but can be structurally complex and need a lot of drilling to sort out. AMH plans another 8-10 drill holes on copper silver targets this phase which will be completed after an initial test of the gold molybdenum zone discovered northeast of the copper showings. This displays a strong geochemical and geophysical signature but its drill holes that will tell the tale. The drill program is a technical success so far but the market won’t come to it unless Amanta can determine a way to show scale potential. We’re waiting to see how things turn out on the moly-gold target and will reassess the position then.
